Buffalo Trace to release its experimental whiskey

Buffalo Trace

The word among my fellow bourbon lovers is that there’s good news coming out of the Buffalo Trace Distillery.  We hear they are releasing the first experimental whiskey of this year!  What I love about this is the process. Its aged TWICE!  They describe the process on their press release:

“The barrel, filled with Buffalo Trace’s wheat mash recipe and entered into the barrel
at 114 proof, was put away to age in one new barrel on Dec. 10, 2007. After four years of
aging in Warehouse C the barrel was removed, the bourbon was cut with water to lower it
down to 100 proof, and then put back into the same barrel and left to age another eight years in the same warehouse.”

Experimental collections are fabulous when they exit the infamous Warehouse X. (If you don’t know about this place read about it HERE)  Each label on the bottle includes the information unique to that barrel of whiskey. These whiskeys retail for around $47 and will be available in May. Search them out as soon as you can. These Experimental Collection releases are small and have limited availability. Sip on my brothers!!
