In the mid-sized city of Greensboro, NC lies a distillery. Gre
ensboro Distillery hasn’t been in the game for very long but they are killing it these days. In 2018 the distillery was awarded Best in Class Vodka and Grain spirits for its Tiny Cat Vodka. That was against about 1000 other distilleries in the country.
Tiny Cat also won a silver medal at San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Needless to say these guys do it right. Even their gin, whiskey and bourbon rack up awards every year. But it’s what they’re doing now that has raised an eye brow or two….in a good way. They are making hand sanitizer for the Covid-19 outbreak.
The owner said “Last week we were making bourbon…this week hand sanitizer. And we are happy to do that because we are the only ones in town who can!” And that they did. 500 gallons for first responders and healthcare personnel in the first few weeks but they opened it up to others after that. It is a great gesture to the community.
Their family of spirits are incredible. I have had ALL of their products and I have to tell you…their Emulsion gin is a gin sippers dream. Be careful trying to make a cocktail out of this one because its very complex and would require a great mixologist to pull that off. But to sip on the rocks….perfect. The Fisher’s Rye is in my top 5 ryes in history. Definitely worth a purchase.
